What is Hypnotherapy?
The goal of hypnotherapy is
to relax the active mind which is constantly thinking and
analyzing and access the subconscious mind which stores all
of the information and beliefs you have ever learned. In
doing so, you can change old habits or belief systems that
no longer work for you. When you are in a trance state, it
becomes easier to access our subconscious mind. By directly
communicating your desires to your subconscious mind, you
can create positive change in your life.
What is a Hypnotic state?
The Hypnotic state is a
natural state of mind. In fact, you go in and out of this
state many times each day. You enter hypnotic trance when
you are driving a familiar route, doing a repetitive task,
daydreaming, or even watching T.V. With hypnotherapy, we
attempt to enter this state of trance intentionally in
order to bring about a desired change in our lives.
What happens during a Hypnotherapy Session?
While in a trance state,
the hypnotherapist will give some positive suggestions
(this process is called induction) that will aid your subconscious
mind in making the desired positive change in your life.
Unlike the conscious mind that can be fearful or closed,
the subconscious is ready and willing to accept healthy
suggestions and change behavior.
You are in control!
Hypnosis cannot make you
go against your own moral code. While in a trance state,
you are in control. In fact, you are the one making the
changes in your life. You will not do anything to embarrass
or harm yourself or another while in a hypnotic state.
Any suggestion that goes against your personal code of
behavior will simply be rejected by your mind. You can
come out of the trance anytime you wish simply by opening
your eyes.
